Both Abby and Sam had their well child check ups today. Here are the stats. Abby is 59 pounds which puts her in the 95th percentile for her age. She is 4 feet 1 3/4 inches tall which puts her in the 98th percentile (anyone surprised by that). She is doing great, her doctor was very pleased.
Sam is 17 pounds 8.5 ounces which puts him in the 90th percentile for weight. He is in the 95th percentile for height at 26 3/4 inches. He is also doing great. He is developing just as he should. The only concern we still have is the flatness of his head. Our pediatrician recommended that we talk to a Craniofacial doctor. That is a fancy word for a helmet doctor. Any advice for us about this, Lisa? She said that the problem is cosmetic and not medical but we would probably feel better making that kind of a decision after talking with a specialist.

Sam is almost the same size as Maddie! Maddie is still only 20 pounds, but quite a bit taller than Sam I think. (not sure on the height right now)
As for the head thing... I would suggest going to see the specialist, just to see what he has to say. He will do a lot of measurements and give you suggestions (which will probably be to do the helmet, because that is what he does!). If insurance covers it, it might be worth doing. JT and I decided together that if insurance would cover it, we would have done the helmetting, and if it wouldn't, we couldn't afford it and wouldn't do the helmetting. Obviously, it ended up it wasn't covered so we didn't do it. When her head is wet in the bath we can definitely tell that it is flat on one side, but when her hair is dry you can't tell. But with a boy it might be different. In the end, it should be decided by you and Matt. Go with your gut. :) Let me know if you see the specialist!
